A lot of people look at bankruptcy as a major negative or something shameful. Attorney Adam M. Weiner looks at it as empowerment. Knowledge gives empowerment, and sometimes filing for bankruptcy may be the most sensible and logical thing for a person to do. Indeed, filing for bankruptcy is an affirmative act of empowerment by somebody to take control over a seemingly hopeless or depressing situation. Filing for bankruptcy is essentially a business decision that may or may not make sense for an individual. Furthermore, a mortgage broker recently confirmed that if an individual starts rebuilding their credit after filing for bankruptcy (for example, a car loan or a secured credit card), they could qualify for a home mortgage (with good terms) in as little as one year after filing for bankruptcy.
